Safe, Effective, and Always There!

Think of this whole setup as similar to your local radio station and your car radio.

There are the 3 main components to any underground fence.

  1. The Transmitter
    1. The Transmiter acts as the radio station and sends (or transmits) the radio frequency out around the buried wire. This is also what controls the distances around the wire (the signal field).
  2. The Wire
    1. The buried wire acts like the antenna for the radio station and radiates that particular frequency at an equal distance all around the wire.
  3. The Receiver Collar
    1. The Receiver Collar is what your pet wears. It acts as your car radio in that when it is carried within range of the signal field (usually 3 to 6 feet), it activates, producing a tone and a correction (a mild static charge).

We can install in many different configurations and make sure every system is customized to fit you and your pet's needs. Below are a few typical systems to give you an idea on "How it Works".

Basic Perimiter system with loop around a garden, pool or any other area you would like protected.

Yard1

This system is for properties that have an existing fence. Example shows chain link in back and sides, and DogWatch® in front only.

Yard2

This setup creates 2 zones (usually front and back). Your pet can be in either zone anytime you want.

Yard3

Basically there are 2 things to keep in mind when it comes to the operation of any underground fence.

  1. The Loop
    1. A complete loop (or circuit) must be made with the wire in order for any system to function. However, there are ways of stetching or bending these loops to form various configuations. DogWatch can customize the configuration to accomplish exactly what you want.
  2. The Signal Field
    1. Though the signal field is totally adjustable, typically there is a 3 to 6 foot signal field around the wire for the average pet. This can vary depending on property size and type of pet. This is your pet's TRUE boundary (or where the Reciever collar will activate). So your pet would stay 3 feet back from wire location if the signal field is set at 3 feet.

Triad Dog Fence has made our life much happier for our two wonderful dogs and for us, their owners. The training sessions were easy because Dave gave clear instructions which helped us and our dogs understand right away. Dixie was trained a year earlier than Sandy but we have had no trouble with Sandy obeying the boundaries when she was brought into our household. The collars are put on the dogs first thing in the morning and the last thing taken off at night. We never have had the dogs go across the wire. We feel comfortable leaving our property with the dogs running loose. They wait at home for us to come home. Triad Dog Fence has been the answer to the contentedness of our dogs and to our peace of mind. We are very satisfied with your service and support.
